How to use this calculator

  1. Start with the payout. Get this from your network dashboard — it is the amount paid per completed lead.
  2. Estimate your clicks. Be conservative. If your article gets 50 visitors per day and 20% click the CTA, that is 10 clicks. Use real analytics data, not wishes.
  3. Guess your conversion rate. If you have never tested, start with 2% for organic traffic and 1% for paid. Adjust after your first real test.
  4. Add costs if applicable. For organic content sites, costs may be near zero. For paid traffic, enter your CPC honestly — optimistic numbers produce optimistic losses.

Realistic conversion rate benchmarks

Conversion rates vary dramatically by traffic source and offer type. These are rough ranges based on real affiliate data — not guarantees:

Traffic Source Typical Range Notes
Organic search (content site) 2–6% Readers are pre-educated, higher intent
Social media (organic posts) 0.5–2% Casual browsers, lower intent
Email list (warm) 3–10% Highest intent — these people trust you
Paid push ads 0.3–1.5% Interruption-based, low intent
Paid native ads 0.5–2% Better alignment than push, but still paid
Content locking / incentive 5–20% User is motivated to complete, but lead quality may be lower

Why most earnings estimates are wrong

New affiliates tend to make three math errors:

  1. Overestimating clicks. "My article will get 1,000 visitors per day." New content on a new domain typically gets 0–10 visitors per day for months.
  2. Overestimating conversion rate. "5% seems reasonable." Most beginners see 1–3% from organic content, less from paid traffic.
  3. Ignoring GEO mismatch. A $5 US payout means $0 for the 60% of your visitors who are not in the US.

Use this calculator with honest inputs. The point is not to see a big number — it is to see a realistic number. Then you can work on improving the inputs rather than wishing the outputs were different.

Note: This calculator runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent anywhere. All estimates are pre-tax and pre-network-fee. Actual results depend on offer quality, traffic relevance, lead verification, and a dozen other factors. Use for planning, not for promises.
