Beginner CPL Launch Checklist

How to use: Check off each item as you complete it. Do not skip sections — each one prevents a common beginner mistake. Revisit unchecked items weekly until they are done.

Phase 1: Site Readiness

Before applying to any network, your site should look like a real publishing effort, not a parked domain.

Published at least 8–10 articles that demonstrate your topic focus and audience understanding

About page or clear homepage positioning — a visitor should understand what the site covers in under 10 seconds

Privacy policy published and linked in the footer

Affiliate disclosure page published and linked in the footer

Contact page or visible contact method — networks and readers should be able to reach you

Domain looks professional — no subdomain on a free host, no default placeholder content

Phase 2: Tracking Foundation

You need data before you can improve. Set up the basics before your first campaign.

Google Analytics installed and recording visits — verify with real-time report

Google Search Console verified and sitemap submitted

Key pages inspected for indexing — check URL Inspection tool for at least your top 5 articles

Content and application spreadsheet created — track articles, keywords, index status, network applications, and feedback

Weekly review habit established — pick a recurring day and time for a 30-minute data review

Phase 3: Network Applications

Apply strategically, not desperately. Each rejection is feedback — record it and improve.

Researched 3–5 networks that match your GEOs, offer types, and experience level

Prepared a clear site description — one paragraph explaining your site, audience, traffic source, and promotion method

Applied to 2–3 Priority 1 networks first — do not apply everywhere at once

Recorded application dates and responses in your tracking spreadsheet

Waited for site to grow before Priority 2 networks — do not apply to MaxBounty or Perform[cb] with fewer than 10–15 published pages and some organic traffic

Prepared answers for common application questions: traffic sources, GEOs, promotion methods, offer types, and compliance approach

Phase 4: First Offer Selection

Choose your first offer carefully. A bad first campaign wastes time and can damage network standing.

Scored at least 2–3 offers using the Offer Evaluation Template

Confirmed allowed GEOs match your actual traffic — do not promote US-only offers to EU traffic

Read the full offer terms — not just the payout and category. Check traffic restrictions, incentive rules, brand bidding rules, and required disclosures

Asked affiliate manager about common rejection reasons, recommended traffic sources, and quality expectations for this specific offer

Verified the conversion flow yourself — click through the offer as a user would and note every step

Estimated realistic earnings using conservative conversion rates — not the network's best-case example. Use the payout vs conversion math guide

Phase 5: Content and Landing Pages

Your content must make sense to real users, not just search engines or affiliate managers.

Each offer link is surrounded by relevant, helpful content — not just a link dump

Affiliate links are clearly disclosed before the user clicks — not buried in footer fine print

Landing page sets accurate expectations — no fake urgency, no guaranteed rewards, no misleading claims about what is free

Page explains what happens after the click — trial terms, renewal rules, data sharing, and what the user must complete

Internal links connect related articles — guide readers from beginner content to offer evaluation to specific campaign pages

Phase 6: First Campaign Launch

Start small. The goal of the first campaign is learning, not profit.

Started with one offer and one traffic source — do not split early attention across multiple campaigns

Sub IDs or tracking parameters configured so you can identify which page and link produced each result

Small test budget or traffic allocation set — do not send all traffic to one untested offer

Checked conversion reporting within 48 hours — confirm that clicks and conversions are being recorded

Monitored lead quality feedback — if leads are rejected, investigate before sending more traffic

Documented what you learned — what worked, what was rejected, and what to change for the next test
