CPL Network Payment Guide: Thresholds, Methods, and Avoiding Holds

Everything CPL affiliates need to know about getting paid — minimum thresholds, payment methods (PayPal, Payoneer, wire), hold periods, and how to avoid payment delays.

Published 2026-06-17

You generated 50 leads. The network shows $120 in your account. But when you try to withdraw it — nothing happens. The money is “pending” or you have not hit the minimum threshold or your payment method is not set up.

Getting paid should be the easiest part. It often is not. Here is how CPL network payments actually work and how to avoid getting stuck. If you are still choosing which networks to join, our best CPL networks guide and network checklist will help you pick the right ones first.

Payment Thresholds: The First Surprise

Every network has a minimum amount you must earn before you can withdraw. Here is what the major CPL networks require:

NetworkMinimum PayoutPayment Schedule
CPAGrip$50Net-30 (paid 30 days after month end)
CPAlead$50Net-15
MyLead$20 (crypto), $50 (PayPal/bank)On request, ~7 days
MaxBounty$100Net-15
AdWork Media$50Net-30
CPABuild$50Net-30

What Net-30 actually means: If you earn money in June, you get paid at the END of July — not 30 days after each conversion. This means your first payment could take 45–60 days from your first conversion.

Example timeline:

  • June 1: First conversions, earn $80
  • June 30: Month closes with $80 balance
  • July 31: Payment sent (Net-30 after June close)
  • August 3: Money arrives in PayPal/Payoneer

That is 63 days from first conversion to cash in hand. Plan accordingly.

Payment Methods: Not All Are Equal

Most CPL networks offer 3–4 payment methods. Here is how they compare:

MethodSpeedFeesMinimumBest For
PayPalFast (1–3 days)2–3% currency conversion$50Beginners, US/EU affiliates
PayoneerMedium (2–5 days)$3 flat fee or 2%$50–100International affiliates, multiple currencies
Wire TransferSlow (3–7 days)$15–35 flat fee per transfer$500–1000Large publishers, $1000+/month
ACH/Direct DepositFast (1–3 days)Free or < $1$50–100US affiliates only
Crypto (USDT, BTC)Fastest (minutes to hours)Network gas fees (~$1–5)$20–50International, privacy-focused
PaxumMedium (2–4 days)1–2%$50International, adult/niche verticals

Recommendations by earnings level:

  • Under $200/month: PayPal. Simple, fast, everyone has it.
  • $200–1000/month: Payoneer for international, ACH for US. Lower fees than PayPal at this level.
  • $1000+/month: Wire transfer or ACH. Flat fees matter less when volume is high.
  • International + want lowest fees: Crypto (USDT on TRC-20 is cheapest — pennies per transaction).

Payment Holds: Why Your Money Gets Stuck

The most common reason for payment delays:

1. Incomplete Tax Information

US networks (MaxBounty, CPAlead, AdWork Media) require a W-9 (US citizens) or W-8BEN (non-US). If you have not submitted this, payments are held.

Fix: Go to account settings → Tax Information → Submit the form. This takes 5 minutes and unlocks payments permanently.

2. Unverified Payment Method

PayPal: You must have a verified PayPal account (linked bank account or card). Payoneer: You must complete Payoneer’s identity verification (passport/ID + proof of address). Wire: You must submit bank details exactly as they appear on your account statement.

Fix: Verify your payment method BEFORE you start running traffic. Verification can take 3–7 days. Do not wait until you have money pending.

3. Payment Method Name Mismatch

Your network account name is “Eric Guo” but your PayPal is registered to “Eric G.” — payment rejected.

Fix: Your network account name, payment method name, and tax form name must all match EXACTLY. Check this when you create your account.

4. Minimum Threshold Not Met

You have $45 in your account but the threshold is $50. Payment will not process.

Fix: The threshold is per payment, not total earnings. You need $50+ in available balance at the time the payment runs.

5. Compliance Review / Fraud Hold

The network detected something unusual — spike in conversions, high rejection rate from a new traffic source, or suspicious geo patterns. They freeze payments pending a manual review.

Fix: Contact your affiliate manager immediately. Explain your traffic source honestly. Most holds are cleared within 1–2 weeks if the traffic is genuine. If you cannot explain your traffic, the hold becomes permanent.

How to Never Miss a Payment

A simple system:

  1. When you join a network:

    • Submit tax form (W-9/W-8BEN) immediately
    • Set up and verify payment method
    • Confirm name matches across all accounts
    • Note the payment threshold and schedule
  2. When you run traffic:

    • Track earnings daily in a spreadsheet (network dashboard + your own tracker)
    • Cross-reference conversions in your tracker vs. network reports
    • Flag discrepancies over 10%
  3. At month end:

    • Check account balance against payment threshold
    • Verify payment method is still active
    • If balance > threshold, confirm next payment date
  4. If payment is late:

    • Check the payment schedule (Net-15 vs Net-30 — are you counting right?)
    • Check if there are any unread messages from your affiliate manager
    • Email support with your account ID, payment period, and expected amount

Track Your Payments

Every network has a “Payment History” or “Billing” section. Check it regularly. Keep your own spreadsheet:

NetworkMonthGrossFeesNetRequestedPaidMethod
CPAGripJun 2026$120$0$120Jul 1Jul 31PayPal
CPAleadJun 2026$85$2.50$82.50Jul 1Jul 16Payoneer

This takes 2 minutes per month and saves you hours of “where is my money” confusion.

The Bottom Line

Getting paid by CPL networks is predictable once you understand the rhythm. The biggest beginner mistakes:

  1. Not submitting tax forms early enough
  2. Not verifying payment methods before running traffic
  3. Not understanding Net-30 means you wait 30+ days after month end
  4. Choosing the wrong payment method and losing 3–5% in fees

Set up payments correctly during account registration. It is the least exciting part of affiliate marketing, but it is the one that puts money in your bank account.
